ZOOMARINE PARK

Zoomarine is located a short distance from Albufeira, and is a wonderful day out. Zoomarine occupies over 15 acres of lagoons, lakes and gardens.

This is not just some “Disney-style” Dolphin Park, the operators run an educational and environmental park, dedicated to understanding Dolphins and showing visitors how wonderful these intelligent animals are. However, it is not a school, and entertainment for the whole family is the order of the day.The Dolphins and other animals and birds in Zoomarine receive the very best care, and are certainly among the best looked after in the world.

In addition, there are shops, places to eat and drink, and various picnic areas.

Zoomarine is open all year round, although not all attractions may be open in the winter.The Park closes on Mondays out of season.There are buses from Albufeira to Zoomarine, with fares of about £3 for adults. Entrance charges are 12 Euros for children aged 5-10, and 21 Euros for Adults. Children under 5 and senior citizen over 65 are free.

The highlight of any visit is the “Dolphin Emotion Experience”, including swimming with the Dolphins. These events take approximately 90 minutes, and cost from 119 Euros per person. All participants must be over the age of 6.

AQUALAND WATER PARK

Aqualand Waterpark is located about 9 miles from Albufeira, and guarantees a fantastic day out for the whole family. You will get soaking wet, but there are plenty of changing rooms available.

As well as the teriffic rides, there are lots more attractions, including a semi-olympic swimming pool,a Congo River Trip,Rapids,and a surf beach. Younger children are well provided for, with their own Mini Park.

Buses run direct to Aqualand from Albufeira. The bus fare can be included with the entrance ticket. Tickets can also be purchased in advance on the website.

AQUASHOW PARK ALGARVE

Another fun aquapark, Aquashow Algarve is located near Loule, near Quarteria. The park is about 12 miles from Albufeira. As with the other parks in the area, buses run from Albufeira.

Aquashow is only open in high season, from the beginning of June to the middle of September.

There are a host of water attractions, including the water roller coaster,white fall,wild snake, wave pool and foam.

In addition to the water attractions, there is a large collection of exotic birds and birds of prey.

A great way to cool off during the summer heat.
